Ronica Rooks

Ronica N. Rooks is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Health and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver, in the United States of America. She completed postdoctoral fellowships in health disparities at the University of Michigan and geriatric epidemiology at the National Institute on Aging. She has a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Maryland College Park. Her research interests focus on social-ecological explanations for racial/ethnic disparities in cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Her current projects include examining relationships between: race, community environments, and CVD among seniors and developing “time-banking” to build social capital and promote health among seniors across varied socioeconomic status communities.
